FAQ

This is a difficult question to answer. In our experience the minimum administrative fees on a typical SMSF start at $2K per year to give you an early indication of viability. As always, individual circumstances need to be taken into account and we would recommend speaking to a qualified financial advisor to who we can independently refer.*

In short - the larger the SMSF, the better they typically compare to traditional funds in terms of administrative costs. The main reason being is that the majority of traditional funds charge an administrative fee which is a % of the overall fund size whereas an SMSF typically has administrative costs independent of fund size.*

In our experience, clients value an SMSF for the primary reason of control:

With an SMSF you have precise control where your superannuation is invested. There's an old adage that no one will look after your money quite like you and many of our clients subscribe to this thinking. When you have an SMSF you are able to invest in the asset profile you desire. For instance, many of our clients invest in the following asset classes tailored to their individual requirements and aspirations:

  1. Term deposits
  2. Direct investments into residential and commercial property
  3. Their existing commercial property utilised in their business
  4. Exotic investments: gold bullion, silver commodities, crypto currency, etc*
